Our Process

How it works

Three steps. AI does the heavy technical lifting, a human engineer adds the soul.

Step 1

Upload Your Track

Drop your unmastered WAV, select your genre and loudness target, and add any notes for the engineer. Our AI immediately begins analysis.

Step 2

AI Analyzes & Pre-Masters

Our engine processes your track across 200+ sonic parameters -- loudness, EQ, dynamics, stereo image -- and applies an intelligent first-pass master.

Step 3

Human Engineer Finalizes

A professional mastering engineer listens critically, fine-tunes every detail the AI cannot feel, and delivers your release-ready master.

The Hybrid Approach

AI + human = the best of both worlds

Pure AI misses the nuance. Pure human is slow and expensive. We combine both so you get the best result, fast.

1

Not Generic AI Automation

We are not a click-and-go auto-master. Our AI is trained on thousands of electronic music masters, and a real engineer signs off on every track.

2

Ears of a Pro

Algorithms are incredible at analysis, but only a human ear can judge feel, energy, and artistic intent in a DnB drop.

3

Optimized for Streaming & Festivals

Every master hits platform loudness targets and translates on club systems. From Spotify normalization to warehouse rigs.

Why OVRTON

Before You Upload

Mastering does not fix a bad mix

Mastering is the final polish -- it enhances a good mix, but it cannot rescue fundamental problems. Here is what to know before you upload.

What mastering cannot fix

Clipping & distortion in the mix

If your mix bus is clipping or individual tracks are digitally distorted, mastering cannot undo that damage. The distortion is baked into the waveform.

Bad EQ balance between instruments

A kick that drowns out the bass, or vocals buried under synths -- mastering EQ works on the full stereo file, it cannot isolate and rebalance individual elements.

Muddy or undefined low end

If your sub and kick are fighting for space in the mix, a mastering EQ or compressor cannot separate them. That needs to be fixed in the mix with sidechain, EQ, or arrangement changes.

Phase issues & mono compatibility

Wide stereo effects that cancel out in mono, or phase-inverted layers, will still collapse after mastering. These are mix-level problems that need to be addressed before export.

Poor arrangement or timing

If a section feels empty, a transition is abrupt, or elements are out of time, mastering has no way to restructure the music itself.

How to prepare your mix

A clean mix gives us the best starting point. Follow these guidelines and your master will sound significantly better:

1

Leave -3dB to -6dB of headroom on your mix bus

2

Remove any limiter or heavy compression from the master bus

3

Make sure nothing is clipping in your DAW before bouncing

4

Check your mix in mono -- if it collapses, fix phase issues first

5

A/B your mix against a reference track at matched loudness

Not sure if your mix is ready? Upload it and our engineer will let you know if anything needs attention before mastering. Reach us at engineermix@ovrton.com
